Dr. Mehmet S. Yurtcicek is a legal expert on Banking, Finance, Electronic Money and Payment Services. He has an outstanding knowledge and experience on regulation and supervision of financial markets in Turkey. Mr. Yurtcicek worked on drafting of Turkey’s several primary and secondary regulations related to the Banking, Payment Services and Electronic Money.
Mr. Yurtcicek worked as a Technical Committee Member at Islamic Financial Services Board, and as a Consulting Counsel in the Legal Department of the International Monetary Fund. He has given lectures on banking regulation, supervision, resolution, and Islamic Banking. Mr. Yurtcicek is a frequent speaker at many national and international conferences on banking, e-money and payment services.
Mr. Yurtcicek is a law graduate, has a master’s degree in European Union law (both from Marmara University) and has an LLM degree in Banking and Finance Law from the Queen Mary University of London. He received his PhD degree from the Marmara University in 2012. His book entitled “Electronic Money from the Legal Perspective” was published in June 2013. The second edition of the book was published in May 2015. Mr. Yurtcicek also has numerous articles and works on payment and electronic money services.
